Common terms in event-business RFQs. Useful context for extraction and analysis.
- AV — Audio/Visual: sound, video, projection, displays.
- Load-in / Load-out — time to set up / tear down before and after an event.
- Rigging — suspending equipment (lighting, sound, screens) from structures.
- Truss — modular metal framework used to hang AV and lighting.
- FOH — Front of House: the audience-facing mix position / area.
- Backline — stage equipment for performers (amps, drums, keyboards).
- Power distro — power distribution for an event site.
- Run of show — the minute-by-minute schedule of an event.
- Spec — the technical specification of a requirement or item.
- Crew / labor — staffing: technicians, riggers, stagehands, operators.
- Per diem — daily allowance for traveling crew.
- Force majeure — clause covering uncontrollable events (weather, etc.).
